Following the highly successful launch of large-sized 18.5″ (Part No. 92-P3019-A20), 21.5″ (Part No. 92-P3022-A20), and 24″ (Part No. 92-P3025-A20) projected capacitive (PCI or PCAP) touch panels at the beginning of the year, AMT has released a 19″ (Part No. 92-P3027-A20) touch panel which is also paired with PenMount’s PM1710 PCI control board. Samples are available now.

The PenMount PM1710 PCI control board provides all large sized touch panels with frequency hopping noise immunity, 5-point multi-touch, gloved touch and thick glass support, and IEC 61000-4-3 RS Level III and IEC 61000-4-6 CS Level III 10V Criteria A EMC compliance. The PenMount PM1710 is equipped with two PenMount P2-08 controller ICs, supports USB and RS-232 interfaces, and is compatible with all mainstream operating systems.

AMT’s large sized PCI touch solutions also offer IEC 60601-1-2 Edition 4.0 medical safety standard compliance and heavy-duty glove support upon request. Large AMT PCI touchscreens are already featured in a selection of medical devices. Heavy-duty glove support provides customers who wish to implement touch-enabled equipment in close proximity to live electrical current the ability to operate PCI touchscreens while wearing the OSHA mandated glove system of rubber insulating gloves, liner, and leather protector gloves. Water handling on large AMT PCI solutions is set to WD (water detect) mode by default. This mode ensures reliability by suspending touch operation when the amount of liquid on the touchscreen surface reaches a predetermined threshold. This “no false touch when wet” performance functions with water, saline, seawater, blood, and a variety of cleaning solutions. This feature also brings large-sized touch panels into hospital and maritime environments where contact with liquid is expected.
