Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the PenMount Team!  The entire PenMount family would like to use this last PenMount Bulletin of 2017 to wish you happy holidays and peace in 2018.  With just a couple of more days until Christmas followed closely by the New Year, we look back on our efforts this year to provide customers with the best touch experience and products that redefine safety, reliability, and durability.

In 2017, PenMount made a number of advances in the overall performance of our projected capacitive (PCAP or PCI) touch solutions.  As part of our mission to continuously offer new functionality, PenMount PCI supports virtual buttons, remote firmware update, and encryption of data code.  The virtual button option allows customers to design additional buttons on a PCI touch panel’s periphery.  In the past, resistive panel designs used film switches as buttons and now PenMount virtual buttons can achieve the same effect.  Customers can design virtual buttons into PCI active areas according to their needs.  Customers can also take advantage of remote firmware update to remotely update the firmware for all their products simultaneously and automatically.  This year, we introduced a software encryption feature into our PCI control boards and COF tails to provide secure data communication between touch solution and system.

To ensure the operation of your PCI product in any environment regardless of noise interference, our unique Enhanced Driving technology stabilizes touch operation and sensitivity in noisy environments while also allowing operation with thick cover lenses.  Customers can also build a System Reference (SR) in PenMount PCIUtility to improve operation within wider ranges of operating temperature and humidity fluctuation, increasing PCI touch operation stability.  This year, PenMount also successfully supported numerous customer IoT projects.  Whether in the Windows 10 IoT Core system or common Linux versions, PenMount has the professional technology and experience to assist customers in successfully incorporating PCI touch products.
