Chinese New Year celebrations have just concluded and we wish everyone health and prosperity as the Year of the Monkey begins! We have good news to share with you. This year, AMT has been awarded the 2016 Carbon Reduction Action Award presented by the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan R.O.C.

AMT has long been committed to environmental conservation, carbon reduction, and sustainable business practices. In recent years, heat waves, storms, droughts, and other extreme weather events have become more prevalent around the globe. Faced with the treat of climate change and its impact on our environment, the entire AMT staff has been tasked to implement concrete measures to make AMT a low carbon manufacturing facility.

In 2015, the company applied for the Carbon Reduction Action Award. The objective of this event is to encourage all sectors to autonomously implement carbon reduction movements. Applicants are judged based on four criteria: “carbon reduction equipment improvement measures,” “carbon reduction self-management measures,” “carbon reduction education advocacy and future improvement measures,” and “actual environmental reduction performance.” After document review and onsite factory evaluation by government agencies, AMT was presented with the Merit Award in January 2016. This award is a representation of our hard work, proactivity, and commitment not to fall behind in the area of carbon reduction.

At the same time, AMT purchased green power in 2015 and 2016. The carbon emission of green power is zero or close to zero and, compared to other power generation methods (such as coal), it has a low impact on the environment. AMT will use green power every month to reduce CO₂ emissions and help us move towards a clean future.

In addition to purchasing green power, we actively cultivate concepts of environmental protection among employees. We continue to promote trash separation, recycling, and events such as environment beautification to allow personnel to become green seeds and place the ideals of reduced carbon living in everyone’s hearts. Furthermore, we have installed energy efficient lighting on the factory floor and recycle production waste water into the air conditioning system. We use a rainwater recycling system to water greenery to reduce unnecessary waste. Simultaneously, we purchase highly efficient equipment to reduce equipment and facility power consumption at the source and effectively conduct power use management.
