AMT to Introduce New PCI Setting Management Method

Since AMT PCI touch solutions are utilized in a myriad of environments and applications, a profusion of parameter configurations exist.  Parameters such as cover lens thickness, size of PCI touch panel, sensitivity, orientation, and many more all contribute to unique configurations that meet specific application or environmental requests.  A single system integrator may have multiple parameter configurations across several product lines.  In the past, AMT and our distributors have expended considerable effort setting these numerous and disparate customer parameter configurations into our firmware.  The number of parameter configurations also necessitates the creation of several OEM firmware versions in addition to the standard versions available to customers.  AMT is constantly improving its processes and developing new ways to streamline complicated systems.

Thus, in order to manage firmware and facilitate customer operations, AMT will separate the PCI firmware and parameter setting feature, and will be introducing cyclic redundancy check (CRC) codes to our products at the end of November.  “Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) is an error-detecting code commonly used in storage devices to detect accidental changes to raw data.”  AMT will use the CRC code to verify parameter settings before shipment and these codes will appear on the Control Board or COF tail product label.  This also means our firmware will not update as frequently nor will we create as many OEM firmware versions due to parameter differences.  From the generated CRC code, customers will also be able to quickly and easily ensure the correct parameter settings for the PCI products they receive.
