PenMount wishes you Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! This year, the world is affected by the novel coronavirus pandemic, making 2020 full of challenges. PenMount sincerely wishes you and your family good health, peace, and safety. In 2020, PenMount listen to our customers, optimize our product features, and improve the overall user experience. Here, we are honored to review and share our achievements from this year with you.

This year PenMount launched new versions of PenMount projected capacitive (PCAP) touch controller firmware (V6.2.0) and PCIUtility (V1.8). The new firmware focuses on the following three items:

1. Operating Experience: added the “Lite Frequency Hopping Mode” function allowing customers’ PCAP products to operate and draw lines smoothly in a low-noise environment. We have added a border button to PCIUtility V1.8, which can adjust the firmware’s border parameters after pressing the button, allowing customers to optimize touch operations when using thick border panels.
2. System Compatibility: added “HID Report Mouse Mode and Digitizer Mode” function. If the system or user’s application interface only supports mouse devices, customers can switch the device to Mouse Mode.
3. Extending Special Application: The Virtual Key function has been increased from the original 15 keys to 30 keys, allowing the client to implement a variety of USB key inputs. If you have any requirements for this function, please feel free to contact us.

PenMount launched a new firmware function for the resistive multi-touch (RMT) PM6601, which can provide support and switching for various panel ratios and circuit wires, and improve the calibration process of the RMT touch panel. The RMT touch controller supports multi-finger operations, as well as two-finger gestures for pan, zoom and rotation. If there is water, blood, saline, sea water on the surface of the touch panel, or in an environment full of low-frequency and high-voltage noises, users can smoothly operate the touch panel with multiple fingers.

PenMount’s new PM6203 control board can automatically detect the wiring sequence of the 4-wire resistive touch panel. If the customer is using a 5-wire resistive touch panel, the customer can also use the tool provided by PenMount to automatically calibrate the order of the panels through the software, so that the customer can be more efficient in the product assembly process. The PenMount team continues to introduce innovative technologies to provide customers with fast support services and complete solutions.
