UV wavelengths range from 100nm to 400nm and can be classified into UVA (315nm – 400nm), UVB (280nm – 315nm), and UVC (100nm – 280nm). The cover glass of a PCAP touch panel typically blocks UVB and UVC wavelengths below 300nm, but UVA still penetrates the glass, causing damage to the underlying touch panel or LCD panel. This damage can result in diamond patterns, yellowing, hazing, bubbling, or cracking.
