On August 12, AMT held its 3rd Annual AMT Games and Family Fun Competition at National Taiwan Ocean University.  Attendance was the highest yet with 212 employees and 22 family members.  Despite the relentless heat and sunshine, participants gave their all in every completion as continuous cheers and laughter encouraged the athletes throughout the day.  AMT has held this event for three consecutive years with a goal of promoting exercise and health.  We hope mutual competition and encouragement can help the power of working together coalesce among teams.

We know well that only physically and mentally healthy personnel can provide customers with high quality products and service.  Internally, AMT promotes a “Happy Train” vision in hopes of allowing every employee to have an active, healthy, and happy lifestyle and to lead society towards positive development.  Before the start of the competition, attendees gathered at the National Taiwan Ocean University stadium for opening ceremonies.  During her opening speech, AMT President Lillian Chao hoped everyone could develop good exercise habits because only healthy bodies can build happy lives.

The competition began with singles and doubles badminton and singles ping pong.  In order to prepare for this year’s games, many people used precious after-work hours and weekends to practice with teammates.  By learning from each other, players strived to increase their chances of capturing victory for themselves and their team.  Competition was fierce this year and the atmosphere was intense.  In the end, the IT Office’s Mike Ko won the badminton singles competition, the Administration Department’s Paul Hsu and Bruce Sung won the badminton doubles competition, and the QA Department’s Patrick Yu won the ping pong singles competition.  By popular demand, the company added two new basketball competitions this year, 3-on-3 and shooting accuracy.    In 3-on-3, the skills of participating teams were very evenly matched and created the most intense clashes of this year’s games.   When the dust had settled, the team led by the R&D Department’s Jackson Kuo won the 3-on-3 competition and the team lead by the Sales Department’s Joe Wang won the shooting accuracy competition.

The family fun events followed and featured a balloon relay and three-legged balloon race.  A total of eight teams entered these races and both employee and their child had to be particularly in sync to pull ahead of the pack.  The finale of this year’s games was, again, the most exciting.  Teams drawn from two to three different departments competed in the group fun competition and relay race.

AMT also encourages our employees to establish sports clubs and utilize non-working hours and weekends to engage in various physically beneficial sports or activities.  This can build friendships among our staff and promote healthy lifestyles for our employees and their family which is a win-win-win for individuals, families, and our company.
