Some of our customers have asked us, if they would like to switch to PenMount control boards, can they use non-AMT PCAP touch panels?  Can PenMount PCAP control boards support other brands or market standard PCAP touch panels?  The answer is YES.  PenMount is compatible with any PCAP touch panel on the market with tail pinouts matching PenMount control board design, whether it is Glass-Film-Film type or Glass-Glass type.  If tail design is different, a modified control board or tail adapter can be used.

PenMount’s powerful system reference (SR), median filter, and frequency hopping ensure compatibility with common PCAP touch panel designs by imbuing our touch system with superior built-in noise-immunity. Paired with most common PCAP touch panels, PenMount PCAP touch controllers still deliver the convenience and flexibility customers expect.  PenMount PCAP touch controllers automatically adapt to different application environments without constant tuning.  Potential issues can be diagnosed and resolved onsite with utilities and insight provided by the PenMount team.  With our superior noise immunity, PenMount PCAP touch controllers are also the best choice when your system needs to pass stringent EMC standards.  In addition, water handling, gloved touch, and other advanced features are all available on one standard firmware.

No matter the brand of PCAP touch panel used, PenMount is able to provide the best service and support so that customers can fully utilize the best features of PenMount PCIUtility.  We will release a new PenMount PCIUtility version in the coming month. When using common PCAP touch panels, this new PCIUtility will be just as intuitively user-friendly.  It will also allow customers to adjust panel compatibility in the field to further increase PenMount product flexibility and ease-of-deployment.
