PenMount Provides Comprehensive Linux System Services

12/12/2023 | Bulletin No. : PMY23004

PenMount is committed to providing comprehensive services for various Linux systems, whether they are desktop systems, embedded systems, or other specialized application fields.

Linux Desktop Systems

PenMount actively supports standard Linux desktop systems, most of which use X Window-based systems. For popular Ubuntu Linux LTS systems, PenMount provides integrated installation packages supporting standard desktop systems from Ubuntu Linux 12.04 to 22.04 versions, and integration for hardware platforms like x86 (32/64-bit) and arm 64-bit.

On the other hand, many industrial computer projects for clients can extend beyond a decade, and the operating systems used may still be versions from ten years ago. Adhering to the concept of long-term support for Linux systems, PenMount provides driver updates for older systems based on customer needs. For instance, PenMount recently provided driver updates for Debian 6 and Fedora 9 according to customer requests.

Embedded Linux Systems

PenMount widely supports Embedded Linux systems. These systems differ significantly from standard desktop Linux systems due to limitations imposed by embedded processor performance and storage resources. Consequently, the operating systems must be optimized to adapt to the hardware platform. These systems sometimes use lightweight Wayland desktop systems to save storage space and improve boot speed.

Some customers using embedded systems may encounter touch issues or anomalies. This involves whether the system includes the necessary Linux kernel drivers and the integration of touch calibration. PenMount provides detailed instructions and document downloads on its website to assist customers in preliminary issue detection and resolution.

Specialized Application Fields

Some customers may use special Linux systems, such as those in the Internet of Things (IoT) application field, TinyCore, or OpenWrt. For such special requirements, PenMount provides sample kernel driver code and documentation, allowing customers to integrate relevant touch support during the system integration phase.

To further expand the service, PenMount has established related projects on GitHub, providing a range of Linux-related documentation that can be adapted to various hardware setups and application scenarios. Whether you are an embedded system developer, engineer, or a community member interested in embedded Linux technology, you can find valuable resources here. For more information on related GitHub projects, please contact us.

In all these fields, PenMount provides crucial support to ensure customers can fully leverage the advantages of Linux systems. PenMount’s design philosophy is to anticipate customer needs, understand their practical requirements, provide complete touch solutions, and assist customers in smoothly executing projects, which is our ultimate goal. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding embedded Linux systems, please feel free to let us know.

PenMount would like to thank you, or readers and customers, for your support, patronage, and encouragement. We would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Hope, and Joy in the New Year. See you in 2024!
